Hike the Vines
We invite you to join us for a Sunset Hike the Vines outing at 16:30 on Sunday, 19 May 2024 at the spectacular Delheim Wines.
The Sunset Hike the Vines outing starts from Delheim Wines's Garden Restuarant parking and heads up the lower slopes of Simonsberg through the beautiful Delheim forest and fynbos areas to the viewpoint and paragliding launch area at nearly 650m above sea level.
The hike is approximately 3,5km from Delheim, with almost 350m of ascent. Please dress in appropriate hiking apparel and shoes with a windbreaker so you are comfortable at the lookout point where we will enjoy the spectacular view and sunset while enjoying a glass of Delheim wine. Please order your Delheim wine when registering and remember to bring your wine glass. We will drive the wine up to the viewpoint. The outing can take up to 4 hours and we will hike down after sunset - please remember your headlamp/torch.
For those who fancy the beautiful sunset view but would rather like to drive up, we offer a Sunset Drive up for R250 per person. Please note there are limited spaces that will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Your entry fee includes an R20 donation to the Greater Simonsberg Conservancy: The Greater Simonsberg Conservancy is a Non-profit and Public Benefit Organisation, with the aim to support its private landowners around the base of the Simonsberg Mountain, Klapmutskop and the Banhoek Valley, in their conservation efforts, as well as providing environmental education and conservation awareness services in the surrounding communities.

What to bring
- Headlamp (Compulsory) for the hike
- A windbreaker and a beanie are well advised.
- Snacks, water and your wine glass.
