RUN (OR WALK!) OUR WONDERFUL VINES AND DISCOVER NEW PLACES … AT YOUR OWN PACE!
In 2025 we will celebrate 10 year's of RUN THE VINES!!!
Run the Vines is a trail run series hosted by Onsite Events that has presented numerous running events in Drakenstein, Slanghoek, Worcester and Boland region.
Living in Paarl with its majestic wine farms and natural beauty is precisely what inspired Lans from Onsite Events to start Run the Vines 9 years ago. Having a passion for events and the outdoors, Lans approached Paarl Wine Route in 2015 to host a trail run in conjunction with the Ommiberg Festival. This was the birth of Run the Vines!
The fact that outdoor lovers of all fitness levels, from the novice to the more serious runner, can run with family and friends on a different wine farm every month while enjoying good food, wine, hospitality and music afterwards surely contributed to the success of this series.
The benefits of trail running are twofold. Firstly, it takes you to places in nature that you will never see if you do not run. “You can experience beautiful farms that are normally private property,” Lans explains. Secondly, trail running promotes a healthy, fit lifestyle. “If you cannot run, then walk,” Lans says. “Finish at your own pace and enjoy it.”
Need to know:
- Anyone can participate.
- There are no cut-off times.
- There are short and long distances – 5km/10km/17km.
- You can walk the 5km and 10km.
- There is a 3km kid’s run for under 8 year olds (to be accompanied by an adult).
- Kids under 12 years of age run for free.
- All events can be entered individually.
- The series entries are limited to 60 entries.
This year's series will consist of 12 runs. Runners must run all 12 events. You have one option to mis an event. The one that you mis can be replaced by any other Run The Vines event that Onsite Events will be hosting.
Runners can downgrade to any distance at any time but will have to pay the difference should they wish to upgrade.

- a Chance to win a Manzi water dispenser at the year-end function in 2024.
- 20% Discount on all other Onsite events hosted by us. Not events on behalf of other charities or companies such as the Pink Xtreme or Fair Cape Trail Run. Code will be provided before each event on request.

All events will be timed with Bouttime and your permanent tag is included in the entry. No more que at registration. Arrive and run!!
Water points will not be the same at all events. It all depends on the route.
Please try to be self sufficient with regards to your own hydration.
Starting times for events:
Summer: 17km - 7:15, 10km - 7:45 and 5km - 8:00
Winter: 17km - 8:00, 10km – 8:30 and 5km – 8:45

NB!!! T's and C's - We will try to stay to the dates and venues as per the calendar. Because we deal with working farms some changes might take place. If this happens you will be notified in time. Please follow our entry site at entries.onsite-events.co.za for all the info before each event.
